Industry-speakers talk about the development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei bio-pharmaceutical industry

The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Modern Biomedical Industry Symposium was held in Tianjin on the 8th. Participants at the conference said that the key to promoting the development of the bio-pharmaceutical industry in the three places is to focus on their respective advantages.

Wu Song, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, said that Beijing has both well-known research institutes such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Medical College, as well as a wealth of medical resources, which can serve as a clinical research center. The National Biomedical International Innovation Park in Tianjin is attracting overseas technology and investment. The advantages are obvious; Hebei is one of the birthplaces of China’s modern pharmaceutical industry, with a strong level of pharmaceutical industrialization. “The complementary advantages of the three resources can form a strong synergy.”

Zheng Yuguo, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and dean of the School of Bioengineering at Zhejiang University of Technology, mentioned that although China’s pharmaceutical industry has developed rapidly in recent years, there are still problems such as aging of pharmaceutical products, high consumption of raw materials, serious pollution emissions, and the need to accelerate the transition to biopharmaceuticals. He said that Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei should play a pioneering role, establish a bio-pharmaceutical technology integration innovation platform, optimize the allocation of tripartite resources, and explore new technologies and models needed by the industry.

He Wei, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and executive vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Agricultural Workers’ Party, pointed out that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region needs to step up exploration of the efficient development mechanism of the bio-pharmaceutical industry and give full play to the dual advantages of government policy support and market resource allocation. He said that the Agricultural and Labour Party will give play to the advantages of the sector and help the innovation and development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei bio-pharmaceutical industry.

Yu Luming, chairman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Agricultural and Labour Party, and Wang Baoshan, chairman of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee, said that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei industry has strong complementarity and has gradually become an important pharmaceutical industry cluster in China, and its role in regional economic development has become increasingly prominent. They called for the three real estate academic circles to strengthen exchanges and interactions, enhance understanding and consensus in continuous communication, and contribute to “healthy China.”

It is reported that this event was hosted by the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, the Beijing Municipal Committee and the Hebei Provincial Party Committee. Nearly one hundred representatives from research institutes, enterprises and agro-industrial parties attended the meeting.
