US State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said that several US and Turkish staff at the US embassy in Ankara were struck by debris from a suicide bombing that killed one Turkish guard. Nuland condemned the attack in the “strongest terms”, saying it was a terrorist attack.
Victoria Nuland, spokeswoman of US State Department, said, “One of our direct hire local guards was killed. We offer our deepest condolences to his family. We had two other direct hire guards who were shaken up they were on the other side of some bullet proof glass, we had a Turkish visitor who is in serious condition, but the only other casualties here were several US and Turkish staff who were struck by flying debris, they were treated on the site at by our embassy clinic and released.”
