Chongqing Helicopter Industry Investment Company and Liangjiang Aviation Industry Investment Group were established on December 17 to accelerate the development of general aviation. Chongqing is now taking steps to build the Longxing District in Liangjiang New Area into a “jet zone” which covers an area of 10 square kilometers.
Chongqing Helicopter Industry Investment Company prioritizes helicopter projects, while Liangjiang Aviation Industry Investment Group will focus on bringing in fixed wing aircrafts.
Chongqing has mapped out an aviation industrial park in Longxing District, Liangjiang New Area, covering an area of 10 square kilometers. Based on the aviation industrial park, the zone will gradually develop its large-scale, comprehensive productivity centered on the production and final assembly of helicopters and fixed wing aircrafts for general use, and at the same time, produce the supporting aviation products, such as components and parts, airborne systems, and engines.
According to the blueprint, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area will commit itself to complete the layout of major aviation industrial chains and speed up infrastructure construction in the aviation park from 2012 to 2013. By the year 2013, the park is predicted to witness 1.8 billion Yuan of output value, generating a total of 16.2 billion Yuan in the upstream and downstream industries.
