Chongqing to cultivate innovative teenagers

Seven students form Bashu Middle School joined a national key laboratory in Chongqing University on December 11. They are the first patch of students who are involved in the “Eyas Plan”. Together with their supervisors, they will engage in scientific and technological researches and inventions, and explore knowledge beyond the text books so as to broaden their horizon.

The “Eyas Plan” has yielded some preliminary results since its implementation. Nine college laboratories have joined hands with 22 high schools. They have jointly developed more than 30 courses and designed nearly a hundred research subjects. Research achievements made by the first patch of more than 120 students have won more than 30 national or municipal level awards. For the next step, the “Eyas Plan” will hold a series of activities to attract more schools, enterprises, public institutions and teachers into the project of cultivating creative teenagers, so as to improve scientific literacy of middle school students in Chongqing.
