The total GDP of Liangjiang New Area is expected to double over its establishment period, according to Chongqing Liangjiang New Area on December 9, 2012.
Liangjiang New Area signed 680 projects in total in past 2 years, with the contract investment of over 350 billion yuan and actual used fund of over 190 billion yuan. Famous domestic and overseas enterprises involving automobile, electronic information, cloud computing, equipment manufacturing, aviation, medicine, finance, logistics, etc., such as SGMW completed automobile with the investment of 6.6 billion yuan and Thyssenkrupp Auto Steel project with the investment of 1.1 billion US dollars.
The new area achieved the GDP of 114.106 billion yuan and the total industrial output value of 219.981 billion yuan, respectively up 20.6% and 33.1%. The quantity of settled Fortune 500 enterprises grew from 54 to 110, accounting for 50% of the total in Chongqing.
