The added value is mainly produced by the publication and copyright service, broadcasting, movie and TV service, cultural entertaining service and other cultural services. The total added value of the 4 industries reached 21.184 billion yuan, accounting for 68.5% of that of the whole cultural industry.
The online cultural service in Chongqing grew by 44.1% in 2011, keeping top for 2 years, marking the rapid development of newly emerged cultural industries, such as digital media, cartoon, and network culture, etc.
The per capita consumption of Chongqing urban residents on educational cultural entertainment reached 1,474.88 yuan, while that of Chongqing rural residents was 334.84 yuan throughout 2011, following the other 3 municipalities.
