China plans to train 150,000 environmental workers per year to meet the souring demand for green professionals.
A job fair held at Changsha Environmental Protection College (CEPC) on December 2, 2012 attracted more than 200 companies offering 3,000-plus positions.
About half of the college’s 2,800 students ready to graduate half a year later in 2013 have signed employment agreements with employers. 80% of environmental protection engineering graduates in the college have found their desirable jobs.
According to Deng De’ai, vice president of CEPC, the country’s high attention to ecological civilization invigorates the environmental protection industry, thus spurring the demand for green professionals.
