Kim made the call in a letter to the scientists and officials of the Academy of Social Sciences marking the institution’s 60th founding anniversary.

He asked them to make tangible contributions in their professional activities to building a thriving nation and bring a great turn as required by the times, according to the KCNA.

In the letter, Kim clarified the responsibility and duty of social scientists, urging them to actively contribute to accomplishing the cause of modeling whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

The field of social sciences, he said, should set up all the issues centered on man and popular masses as required by the Juche (self-reliance) idea and solve them in line with the people’s demand and interests as well as the country’s specific conditions.

Kim asked the academy to open up new fields of research and develop them in the DPRK way with collective wisdom, decisively improve the work of social science information and bring about a turn in training talents.
