CPC National Congress Presidium holds 2nd meeting

The Presidium of the CPC National Congress has held its second meeting in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The meeting was presided by Hu Jintao, the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee.

The meeting approved a list of candidates to be members and alternate members of the central committee and to be members of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Xi Jinping, Secretary-General of the Congress, briefed the presidium on the list of nominees. The meeting also approved draft resolutions on Hu Jintao’s report on behalf of the 17th CPC Central Committee, the work report of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, and an amendment of the party constitution.

The draft resolutions and lists will be passed on to all the delegations for further discussion. The meeting approved the congress election procedures. A list of ballot scrutineers was also accepted by the presidium, and will be ratified by the congress before the final vote begins.
