The Sino French Water Development Co., Ltd., Suez Environment Co., Ltd. (SE) and Chongqing Water Group signed an agreement with respective ratios of investments of 25%, 25% and 50% on building an environment center mainly researching water, sewage and solid waste on November 2.
As a leading enterprise in water and environmental protection of the world, SE has more than 200 research institutions and experimental centers all over the world. This is the first time for Chongqing to do environmental research with international advanced institution and the center is planned to be put into use in the first half of 2013.
Wang Fengqing, chief engineer of Chongqing Water Group, said that the center would be a base for training talents in environmental protection, as well as promote sharing scientific payoffs and resources via cooperation with universities and colleges, helping Chongqing become one of the cities owning cutting-edge environmental technology in China.
