The National Service Industry Comprehensive Reform Pilot Project, launched by National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in 2010, involved 37 districts and cities across the country such as Shijingshan District of Beijing, Yuzhong District of Chongqing, Hangzhou City of Zhejiang Province, etc.
Chongqing Municipal Government has unveiled a series of supporting policies to speed up the development of service industry of Yuzhong District.
In 2011, the value-added output of service industry in this district has reached 62.8 billion yuan with a growth rate of 15.8 percent while that of the first three quarters of 2012 stood at 54.95 billion yuan, up 13.8 percent year on year.
It is estimated that this district will realize over 100 billion yuan in the value-added output of service industry by 2015, among which the modern service industry is to occupy more than 75 percent.
