Chongqing regional economies eye stable growth

A total of 35 counties and districts in Chongqing embraced double-digit economic growth in the first three quarters of 2012, according to Chongqing Bureau of Statistics on October 31.

Chongqing’s “One-hour Economic Circle” realized a regional GDP of 641.052 billion yuan from January to September, up 13.6 percent year on year while that of the “Two-wing” area saw a year-on-year increase of 14.2 percent to 174.748 billion yuan.

The GDP growth rate of the “Two-wing” area is 0.6 percentage point higher than that of the “One-hour Economic Circle”, meaning that the city’s narrowing regional gap policy is taking effect.
