Chongqing needs as many licensed pharmacists as up to 28,000, according to Chongqing Food and Drug Administration on October 31, 2012.
There are 13,000 pharmaceutical trading enterprises, 18,000 medical institutions but only 3,500 licensed pharmacists in Chongqing.
“As a matter of fact, the licensed pharmacists are in great demand, and they are usually paid at a monthly salary of 4,000 yuan,” said a responsible person with Chongqing Food and Drug Administration.
This administration plans to organize relevant training programs and strengthen the efforts to the cultivation for the development of the licensed pharmacist group in Chongqing.
