Water level hits 175m in Three Gorges Reservoir

The water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir reached 175 meters at 9 a.m. on October 30, 2012, according to the data released by Chongqing Hydrology Bureau.

Data showed that Cuntan Hydrological Station currently eyed a 175.43-meter water level, marking the successful water storage operation for the third consecutive year.

The trial water storage operation of the Three Gorges Project was launched in 2008. After a two-month water storage operation, the water level in Wanzhou section of the Three Gorges Reservoir rose to 175.05 meters at 8 p.m. On October 29 from 175.05 meters on September 10.
