Driven by the rise in automobile and electronics industries, Chongqing’s industrial economy maintains a sound momentum in growth.
According to the statistics issued by Chongqing Bureau of Statistics and the NBS Chongqing Office, the added value of above-scale industrial enterprises in Chongqing experienced a year-on-year increase of 16.2% in the first three quarters, 6.2 percentage points higher than the national average level.
The industrial growth of Chongqing rocketed from 13th at the beginning of this year to the 2nd at the end of the third quarter, and the industrial value added took up 46.6% in the city’s total GDP.
The main reason behind the shooting up of Chongqing’s industry is a series of measures taken by Chongqing Municipal Government, which ensures the supply of production factors for the development of key projects.
For instance, Chongqing Municipal Government in March unveiled opinions on promoting the steady and fast economic development by boosting the real economy, proposing 13 suggestions such as aiding micro-enterprises and pooling special funds to shore up the real economy.
In the second quarter, Chongqing unveiled the policy of “steady growth”, allocating a special fund to stabilize the production and promote the sales of 150 key enterprises.
