Chongqing’s above-scale industrial value-added output grew 16.2 % year on year in the first three quarters of 2012, 6.2 percentage points above the national average. In particular, key industries realize a relatively fast increase in this figure, and Chongqing’s auto industry rebounds.
The growth rate of Chongqing’s industrial output value rallied gradually since bottoming out in February despite slight fluctuation. Both light and heavy industries have done well in the first three quarters, with a growth rate of 18.1% and 18.7% respectively, according to the figures revealed by Huang Ke, deputy director of Statistics Bureau of Chongqing, on October 22.
To be specific, 33 out of the total 39 major industries enjoyed an expansion in output value, and the most significant growth rate of 72.8% was observed in electronic information product manufacturing.
Meanwhile, automobile production volume added up to 1.4187 million units in the first three quarters, up 13.6%, year on year, 5.2 percentage points higher than that of the first half of 2012. Sales-output ratio of above-scale industrial enterprises reached 96.7%, down 0.9 percentage point year on year.
