Chongqing will build a overseas Chinese talent database to promote local economic and social development, according to the Working Conference on Overseas Chinese Affairs held in Chongqing on October 15, 2012.
The conference made a summary on the overseas Chinese affairs of Chongqing in the past 6 years and worked out an overall arrangement on the affairs under the new circumstances.
The overseas Chinese affairs system of Chongqing has so far brought in foreign funds of 200 billion yuan and over 200 cooperation projects, strongly boosting the economic and social development of Chongqing.
Based on the establishment of inland open highland and the “window” advantage in the external exchange, Chongqing will attract more overseas (foreign) enterprises and projects, strive to do well in the high-level talents attraction, and build a overseas Chinese talent database.
