Chongqing will take seven measures to care for 1.07 million left-behind children in the rural areas, according to Chongqing Bureau of Finance on October 11, 2012.
The city plans to increase the standardization rate of rural boarding schools to 80 percent by 2015, complete the construction of 1,000 kindergartens and realize the full coverage of generalized preferential kindergartens in the rural areas by 2013.
Besides, video chat rooms, psychological counseling rooms, rural children’s palaces, etc. will be set up for left-behind children.
