Private economy contributes to Chongqing’s GDP growth

The rapid and robust development of private economy largely contributed to the economic growth in Chongqing, accounting for 54.3% of the increase of GDP and 890% of the economic growth in 2011, up 7.9 and 3.6 percentage points respectively compared with those when Chongqing became a municipality directly under the central government, according to Chongqing Statistics Bureau on September 10, 2012.

The data shows that the private economy plays an important role in speeding up the sustainable and rapid development of Chongqing’s economy, stimulating the market, creating jobs, raising income and promoting the balance of urban-rural development, the well-being of people and development of Chongqing.
