A reservoir in east China’s Zhejiang Province breached its bank Friday morning, leaving at least one person dead, said local rescuers.
The reservoir, located in Shenjiakeng village in the city of Zhoushan, broke around 6 a.m. Friday, said municipal rescuers.
Rescuers had recovered one body as of 9 a.m.
Zhejiang has been lashed by downpours over the last few days with the arrival of typhoon Haikui, which landed in the province early Wednesday morning before moving into neighboring Anhui Province.
