Taiwan’s exports amounted to US$24.85 billion for July, an increase of 2 percent over the level for the previous month, the Ministry of Finance’s Department of Statistics announced Aug. 7.
The figure marked an 11.6-percent drop from last July, however, representing the fifth consecutive month of annual decreases. The decline in exports to the U.S. was the largest, at 20 percent, while exports to mainland China, Hong Kong and six member states of the Association for Southeast Asian Nations were also down.
