The number of market entities in Chongqing reached 1.2534 million at the end of June 2012, increasing by 10.57% year on year. Out of those entities, there are 1.1962 million private market entities with total assets of 527.461 billion yuan, up 10.93% and 12.54% year on year respectively.
Despite the rapid year-on-year growth rate, the quantity of Chongqing’s market entities is far less than those of the developed areas. Chongqing’s market entities are only 25.54% of that of Guangdong Province, 37.78% of that of Zhejiang Province, and 40.99% of that of Sichuan Province.
