The above-scale industries in Chongqing achieved profit of 50 billion yuan in 2011, up 22% year on year. Being a link of imported processing trade for research and development and settlement, electronics industry boasted profit margin of 9.6%, 6.6 percentage points higher than the national average.
The aggregate index of the industrial economics benefits was as high as 247.2%, a year-on-year increase of 25.4 percentage points. The profit of the transportation equipment manufacturing industry hit 15 billion yuan, up 4% and accounting for 30% of the total; the profits of ten industries, involving tobacco industry and agricultural and sideline products industry, were more than 1 billion yuan, and the growth rate of 18 industries’ profits exceeded 30%.
