Chongqing’s industrial added value hit 262.402 billion yuan in the first half of 2012, up 16.2% year on year, accounting for 49.4% of the city’s GDP, up 2.5% compared with last year. The output of municipal above-scale industries reached 612.19 billion yuan, increasing by 19.3 percent year on year. The added value of above-scale industries rose by 16.5%, 6% higher than the national level, ranking 5th nationwide.
According to the development of industrial economy, Chongqing made great achievements in speed increase, structural adjustment and energy saving and emission cutting in the first half of 2012, embodying the general requirement of “steady increase, structure adjustment and transformation promotion”, with main economic indicators, such as the municipal GDP, foreign investment, imports and exports, air freight volume, etc, in the forefront at national level.
