Six hundred farmers cooperatives were awarded as the “National Demonstration Farmers Cooperatives” by the Ministry of Agriculture these days. And 27 farmers cooperatives in Chongqing are among the list.
Chongqing now boasts more than 13,400 farmers cooperatives with a total of 2.223 million households and participation rate of 32.2 percent. These cooperatives have become new driving force for the development of Chongqing’s modern agriculture industry.
Chongqing will focus on promoting the development of urban-rural integration and developing modern agriculture, target at boosting the real economy and increasing farmers’ income, attach great importance to the standardization and development of farmers cooperatives in the future.
