Chongqing Liangjiang New Area is to apply for the first inland port in China, according to the Administrative Committee of the Area.
Liangjiang New Area has invested 41.5 billion yuan in the construction of 106 key projects including the railway, highway, LRT, ports, bridges, water supply and drainage, power supply, gas supply and communication in 2012.
Liangjiang New Area will rely on Yuxinou (Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe) Railway and strategically focus on opening to Europe. It will also strive for the establishment of the 1st inland port in order to build the Europe-oriented distribution center, e-commerce center and settlement center. Besides, it will take advantage of the bonded area and the Yangtze River gold waterway and connect the domestic and international markets to build the inland trade & logistic center and make Liangjiang New Area a key area opening to the world in central and west China.
