The main urban districts of Chongqing embraced 164 days with good air quality as of June 30, 2012, 3 days less than that over the same period of last year, according to Chognqing Environmental Protection Bureau on July 4, 2012.
Chongqing boasts obviously lower concentrations of particulate matter (PM10) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) when compared to that of last year and a year-on-year increase of 2.6% in the concentration of nitrogen dioxide (NO2). The three indices reached the secondary standard of National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
