Scientific research vessel “Snow Dragon” to start its expedition in Arctic area

Scientific research vessel “Snow Dragon” will carry the fifth Chinese national Arctic research expedition from Qingdao to Arctic area on July 2.

A total of 120 people, including scientists from France, Denmark, Iceland and Taiwan, will join the Arctic research expedition.

This expedition will become the first voyage of Chinese ship passing through the Northeast route of the Arctic.

“Snow Dragon” will arrive in Qingdao on June 29 and stay 4 days before its departure on July 2. The total expedition will be more than 17,000 sea miles in a total of 90 days. The vessel is expected to return on September 29.
