Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday issued a declaration to protest against Vietnam’s passing of a national law of the sea.
Earlier of the day, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun summoned Vietnamese Ambassador to China Nguyen Van Tho on Thursday to lodge a solemn representation to the Vietnamese side on passing a national law of the sea.
Vietnam National Assembly on Thursday passed the Vietnamese law of the sea, which infringed China’s territory sovereignty by putting China’s Xisha Islands and Nansha Islands under Vietnam’s sovereignty and jurisdiction, according to the representation.
