There was an average increase of 21 percentage points year by year over the last 15 years for the number of tourists visiting Chongqing, and an average increase of 25 percentage points year by year for the total income of tourism, according to Chongqing Tourism Bureau on June 15.
According to statistics, there was an increase of 50.125 billion yuan for the value of Chongqing tourism in 2011, accounting for 5.01% of the local GDP. Chongqing has received 1.096 billion tourists in total over the last 15 years.
