China gave the U.S. the world leader of car sales in May

Sales of passenger cars in China by the end of May 2012 increased by 22.6% and amounted to 1 million 281 thousand units, reported “Autostat” referring to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

In May China ceded leadership in the global car market to the United States, where in the last month one million 334 thousand 642 passenger car and SUV (with 26% increase) were sold.

However, for the first five months of 2012, China holds the world championship for car sales.
