China to invest $ 1 billion in Tajikistan’s economy

In the near future, China will invest $ 1 billion in Tajikistan’s economy, announced the press service of the Tajik President, summing up President Emomali Rahmon’s seven day visit to China.

According to the source, Tajikistan will receive about $ 1 billion technical assistance and concessional loans from China. During the state visit, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon signed 10 agreements on cooperation in the industrial, economic, energy, transport and communication sectors.

Among the signed documents: memorandum on cooperation in the control of plant quarantine between the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan and the General Administration for technical control and quarantine of China, the Memorandum of Understanding between the General Directorate of Geology of Tajikistan and the Coal Geology Office of China’s Henan Province, Cooperation Agreement between the State Unitary Enterprise “Tajik Aluminium Company” (TALCO) and the China National Building Material Company Limited (CNBM).
