One of Soong May-ling’ paintings will be auctioned by China Guardian (中国嘉德) in its 30th quarterly auction. The painting is valued at 200,000 to 400,000 yuan at present.
About 2000 Chinese painting and calligraphy works will debut in 7 auction sessions. The pre-auction show will be held from June 13 to 15, and the auction will be held from June 16 to 18.
Soong May-ling was a First Lady of the Republic of China (ROC), the wife of Generalissimo and President Chiang Kai-shek. She died in her sleep in New York City, in her Manhattan apartment on October 23, 2003, at the age of about 105.
