Chinese killed in quake in northern Italy

A Chinese national was killed in the 5.8-magnitude quake that jolted northern Italy on Tuesday, local Chinese residents told the Chinese consulate in Milan.

The consulate was trying to identify the Chinese victim.

At least 10 people were killed while many others were injured by the quake, said the Adnkronos news agency.

The tremor was “part of a sequence” of the 5.9-magnitude quake which killed seven people and injured some 50 others in the northern Emilia-Romagna region on May 20.
