Lukashenko says Belarus, China reach unprecedented mutual trust

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus and China have reached an unprecedented level of mutual trust and support.

“Belarus and China have attained an unprecedented level of mutual trust and support in the bilateral relations,” Lukashenko said while meeting with Lu Yongxiang, Vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China on Monday in Minsk.

Lukashenko stressed that Belarus is proud that China has been Belarus’ strategic partner and staunch ally for many years. According to him, Belarus is also very grateful to China for assistance at the international level in all areas.

“We want to continue the buildup of political, trade and investment cooperation and to have efficient contacts in science, military-technical and humanitarian affairs,” Lukashenko said, welcoming the establishing of the Belarusian-Chinese commission on cooperation in high technologies.

Lu Yongxiang emphasized the pivotal role the leaderships of Belarus and China play in the advancement of bilateral relations. “Due to close attention of our leaders the bilateral relations have been highly vibrant recently”, Lu Yongxiang said.

The Chinese official stressed that the bilateral trade has increased 20 times since the diplomatic relations were established 20 years ago.
