Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived in Gothenburg Monday afternoon for a visit to Sweden, aimed at further promoting bilateral ties. Swedish senior government officials and Lan Lijun, Chinese Ambassador to Sweden were at the airport. This is Chinese Prime Minister’s first visit to Sweden in 28 years.
Wen Jiabao delivered a written speech at the airport.
This is the third leg of Wen Jiabao’s visit to the four European countries. He visited Iceland and Germany, and will also travel to Poland.
Sweden is one of the first Western countries to establish diplomatic relations with China, it is China’s eighth largest trading partner in the EU, the ninth largest source of foreign investment, and the third largest source of technology import.
