Frankfurt-Chongqing freight route was put into use, marked by the arrival of a McDonnell Douglas MD-11 all cargo plane of Lufthansa in Chongqing Airport early on the morning of March 27, 2012.
The complete route from Chongqing to Frankfurt is Frankfurt- New Delhi-Chongqing-Guangzhou-Krasnoyarsk-Frankfurt.
Chongqing Airport has opened as many as 14 all cargo plane flights from Chongqing to Hongkong, Taibei, Luxembourg, Moscow, Amsterdam, Calcutta and Singapore, etc. so far. Cargo planes with over 20 flights take off and land in Chongqing Airplane every week, with 10 cargo air transportation companies operating there.
It is reported that Chongqing Airport will open more routes linking global major hubs this year at the earliest and build fast tracks to world major economic zones and key areas in Europe, North America, the Middle East, Australia, etc.
