ОАО Eastern Energy Company included into INTER RAO UES, signed a long-term contract with the State Power Grid Corporation of China for electric power supply to this country by 110, 220 and 500 kV transmission lines. The term of the contract is 25 years with the estimated total supply volume of 100 bln kW/h.
Power delivery under the new contract will start from March 1, 2012. According to further interaction plans, deliveries of Russian electric power to China will exceed 2.6 bln. kW/h by 2012 (in 2011, the total power export volumes to China amounted to 1.2 bln. kW/h).
Technical capacity for the increase of export volumes is due to the construction of a new 500 kV transmission line Amurskaya – Heihe. OAO FSK UES acted as the core customer of the construction. ОАО Eastern Energy Company has financed a part of the transmission line construction with its own funds – the Amur river crossing. According to the new contract, power will be exported to China both via 110 and 220 kV lines which were earlier used for trans-border power trade with China, and along the new transmission line Amurskaya – Heihe.
