More and more returning migrant workers started to experience getting rich from the venture parks for returnees in Chongqing. Data released by Chongqing Department of Labor show that there are 36 venture parks of municipal level and above 40 of district and county level, which turn 18,000 migrant workers into employers and help 380,000 people get employed.
The venture parks for returnees have a lower threshold compared with other industrial parks. The investigation indicates most of the businesses ran by returning migrant workers are small and micro enterprises with self-funded investment ranging from 100,000 yuan to 1 million yuan. “1 million yuan is just too little for the industrial park, who is particular about the companies’ size and GDP”, a relevant official in the Labor Department said. Chongqing has lowered the standards to encourage more potential entrepreneurs.
