Senior Chinese and Ukrainian security officials agreed on Friday in Kiev, to enhance cooperation in law enforcement and the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal immigration and transnational organized crime.
Both countries gave this commitment during talks between Meng Jianzhu, State Councilor and Chinese Minister of Public Safety, Raisa Bogatyrova, Secretary for Security and Defence of Ukraine, Anatoly Mogilev, Ukrainian Minister of Interior and Mykola Lytvyn, head of border Guards.
According to the leaders of China and Ukraine, the statement made by the Heads of State of both countries on the establishment and development of strategic partnership between the two countries have greatly boosted bilateral cooperation.
According to Meng, Ukraine is a good friend and important partner of China, and the development of relations with Kiev is one of the most important elements of China’s foreign policy. For him, the establishment of strategic partnership requires strengthening the law enforcement.
