40-Year-Old Space Program Expert Died of Cerebral Hemorrhage

Deputy chief designer of China’s Lunar exploration project died of cerebral hemorrhage.

Dr. Chen Tianzhi, native of Sichuan Suining, was born in 1971. He was admitted to Tsinghua University in 1989, after graduating in 2000, Dr. Chen joined post-doctoral program and work in Japan, Singapore. He gave up working abroad and returned to China in 2004, started to work in China Aerospace Science and Technology Group for lunar exploration. He then became the deputy chief designer of the project.

Dr. Chen Chen Tianzhi had a sudden cerebral hemorrhage in the office and was sent to hospital in the evening of September 6. He died in the evening of September 15, he was only 40 and still single.
