The trade surplus of China has contracted sharply in August to 17.8 billion dollars against 31.5 billion in July, according to figures from Chinese customs. Exports increased by 24.5% in August year on year to 173.3 billion dollars while imports jumped 30.2% to 155.5 billion USD, said the Customs.
