Carrefour announced Monday the appointment of Thierry Garnier, currently executive director of distribution group for growth markets, the Executive Director for China and Taiwan, replacing Eric Legros.

Carrefour said in a statement that Thierry Garnier will assume his new duties in April 2012, after a transition period from January 2012.

Eric Legros meanwhile become executive director for food and other goods from April 2012.
