16 Dead, 89 Injured in Bullet Train Collision

At least 16 dead, 89 Injured in the bullet train collision occurred in Zhejiang Province.

The train numbered D3115, running from Hangzhou to Fuzhou, was hit by lightning and lost power, then rear-ended by train numbered D301. There were 1300-1400 people on D3115, two coaches (No.3 and No.4) of the bullet train fell off the bridge, causing at least 16 dead.

Right after the accident, Minister of Railways Sheng Guangzu rushed to the ministry’s control and command center in Beijing to guide the rescue, and Hu Yadong, deputy minister of railways, is heading to the scene for rescue work.
