For Chinese professionals wishing to organize their events in new markets, Morocco holds the undeniable advantages that establish itself as a destination market of business tourism and conference, said Dr. Hong Sun Yong , Editor-in-chief of the magazine “China International Conference & Exhibition”, organizer of the International Tourism and Convention Business “Expo Fair Project for International Cooperation.”
At the crossroads of Africa and Europe, Morocco has an easy access and has benefits that meet the requirements of this sharp and focused segment, with the backdrop of its ability to capitalize on natural resources, cultural and civilizational heritage, said Ms Yong during the international business tourism conference (Beijing July 8-9).
The Chinese experts said that the image of Morocco, the hospitality of its people and advanced infrastructure make this country a destination for business tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions), adding that this niche “is an extraordinary development opportunity”.
The cities of Marrakech, Meknes and Casablanca are the Cities for tourism and convention business in Morocco, said Ms Yong, adding that infrastructure development and increasing capacity “offer an excellent opportunity for international event organizers who want to discover new destinations.”
In this sense, she recalled that the red city has already hosted major international events, including the GATT Ministerial Conference in 1994 that gave birth to the World Trade Organization (WTO), which had been the participation of 3000 delegations from 124 countries.
She also indicated that a large Chinese delegation recently participated in the 6th edition of International Fair of Agriculture in Morocco (SIAM), held from April 27 to May 1 in Meknes.
Moreover, many Chinese delegations in search of new markets have found economic and trade potentials in Casablanca , particularly in the aerospace, industrial medical and paramedical, fishing equipment and telecommunications, she said.
Motivated by the growing economy of China, Chinese multinationals in different sectors seek to establish themselves in Morocco, an essential platform to access the African and European markets, said the Chinese expert.
