Mario Vargas Llosa Travels to China to Meet with Chinese Writers

The Nobel Laureate in Literature, Mario Vargas Llosa will come to China this Sunday to meet famous Chinese writers such as Mo Yan, Wang Meng and Tie Ning. He’ll stay in China for nine days.

The famous author and one of the leading representatives of Latin American literature has a number of his works translated into Chinese including “Who Killed Palomino Molero?

Vargas Llosa will attend a conference on “The testimony of a writer.” at Shanghai University on Tuesday 14 June.

Two days later, on June 16, he’ll accept the title “Honorary Research Fellow” of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

The Peruvian writer’s trip to China is jointly organized by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), University of Shanghai International Studies, China Renmin University (Beijing) and online bookstore 99read.com .
