A seminar was held Sunday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Calligraphers’ Association (CCA).
Zhang Hai, Chairman of the ACC and renowned calligrapher, said that Chinese calligraphers can play a unique role in building a harmonious society in China, by popularizing the calligraphy in the country.
CCA has over 8,000 members.
Zhou Tienong, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress (NPC of China) and Li Jinhua, Vice-Chairman of National People’s Political Consultative Conference of China (CPPCC), also attended the seminar where 130 more people were present.
Chinese calligraphy, one of the famous folk arts of the Chinese people is also very popular in Japan, the Republic of Korea and some countries in Southeast Asia.
