The 4th Chongqing Model United Nations Conference (CQMUNC) opened in Chongqing Library over August 9 to 11, 2013.
Activities during the conference included modeling the UN’s operation method, discussion procedure and role-playing as diplomats. Over 200 students exchanged their views on 7 international hot issues such as the global food crisis, and finally reached a draft decision.
The student representatives were from renowned universities such as: The University of Washington, University of Chicago, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Sun Yat-sen University, Jinan University. The conference also included a number of high school students, aged from 15 to 25.
More than 90% of the participants of this year’s conference were from Chongqing.
Jointly sponsored by Chongqing Library and Chongqing Secretariat of Model United Nations ,this year’s CQMUNC set 1 publication center and 4 Chinese-English meeting rooms. Ranging from United Nations Development and Planning Department to Refugee Department, Security Council, and History Council.
