The Administration of Chongqing’s Nanbin Road unveiled on December 5 that Chongqing plans to build the treaty port culture block on Nanbin Road. As the first renovated building in the block, the Sun Family Compoud started its construction during the Anti-Japanese War, and is expected to open to public within December, 2012 after renovation.

The opening of commercial port in Chongqing dates back to the year of 1891, last days of the Qing regime, when foreign buildings including the former Barracks of French Marine and the Temporary Office of the U.S. Embassy in Chongqing began to be built on Nanbin Road.

Besides the Sun Family Compoud, some other buildings in Mishi Street including the former Anderson Co., Ltd and the site of the Temporary Office of the U.S. Embassy in Chongqing will also be revamped in 2013, and the Phase-I Project of Mishi Street is planned to be accomplished and open to public in June, 2013.
